My very first logo. In high school, I created this using Adobe and Photoshop. In actuality, it was in high school that I really began to explore entrepreneurship, creativity and my graphic design abilities. I chose to develop what would eventually become my brand at that time. As an early artist, I was selling heat-pressed t-shirts to my classmates. The play on the letters that make up my name inspired the name. Originally going by “Jamel The Camel,” it is now referred to as “JamlTheCaml.”
I have wanted to use my intelligence and creativity to lead a successful career since I was a child. This brand began as a means for me to combine the abilities I’ve accumulated over the years as a writer, podcast host, visual artist, leader, and creative to support not only my own work but also that of others. My purpose in using my platform and experience is to demystify complex systems, improving media literacy and language for the benefit of others.
