Active inquiry is connected to critical thinking. Which is an important factor for discovery. James Baldwin once said that
“The paradox of education is precisely this – that as one begins to become conscious one begins to examine the society in which he is being educated. ” To hold our society to the standards of which it claims to stand on is the duty of all functioning members. Yet only the bold do so. These critiques are meant to improve the quality of life in ones homeland.

Word of the Month

The word of the month is postulate. To ‘…suggest or assume the existence, fact, truth of (something) as a basis for reasoning, discussion, or belief.” Another valuable definition is “a hypothesis advanced as an essential presupposition, condition, or premise of a train of reasoning.”

There is a whole movement around “Anti-Wokeness.” It is interesting to me as the concept of being “woke” is rooted in African-American culture and is about an individual being aware of their circumstances, their environment, and how things outside of their control directly or indirectly affect them. To postulate upon these ideas is how so many African Americans blossom and beat the odds to survive and become famous artists, poets, scholars, thinkers, innovators, and leaders in American society. In the future or even at the present moment. If you find yourself postulating, remember that it is a key function in being a human committed to progressing our world.
